乙女ゲーム – 王子様のプロポーズ

Posted by on February 15, 2014

Ever since I decided to accelerate my Japanese lessons, I have been playing otome games to challenge myself and improve on my vocab. It was initially tough as I was not familiar with the grammatical phrases and it took twice the time I usually take to read. I even had to resort to playing twice, once in English once in Japanese in order to know what was going on. (This is a costly way to learn though as I pay twice the amount of money.)

Thankfully I must say now that my vocabulary and grammar are slightly more up to par, I am able to read without relying on translation apps, although from time to time, I still need to check my dictionary to find out the meaning of the kanji if it is not one used in the Chinese language.

And because of this I am a huge fan of Voltage Inc games, thanks to arisadraconis@twitter who intro-ed me to the games. I think Voltage is making loads of money from us girls. Now the latest games I have been playing are 上司と秘密の2LDK and my very favourite 王子様のプロポーズ season 2.

王子様のプロポーズシーゾン2 A Prince’s Proposal Season 2

I completed Season 1 which is called “Be My Princess” in English, (I actually bought all the main stories!!!) and was totally drawn in by the fantasy world created in this app. Seriously, I think the story writer knows exactly what girls want in a romance, coz the guys are really awesome. Between the two, I prefer the season 1’s main character background, but then again, the princes in Season 1 are much younger than those in Season 2.

The princes in Season 1: Wilfred A. Spencer, Joshua Lieben, Keith Alford, Edward Levaincois, Roberto Button, and Glenn J. Casiraghi

The princes in Season 1: Wilfred A. Spencer, Joshua Lieben, Keith Alford, Edward Levaincois, Roberto Button, and Glenn J. Casiraghi

The six main princes: Henry A. Spencer, Sieg Liesben, Ivan Chernenkov, Aslan Mafdir, Oliver Button and Kuon J. Casiraghi

The six main princes in Season 2:
Henry A. Spencer, Sieg Liesben, Ivan Chernenkov, Aslan Mafdir, Oliver Button and Kuon J. Casiraghi.

If you are wondering why they look the same, that’s coz most of them are related, as Season 2 takes place 50 years later. You play with the grandfathers in Season 1, and then you play with the grandsons in Season 2.

So back to Season 2, I am playing the ジークリーベン Sieg Lieben story now, a DoS type character who really doesn’t say what he feels. Argh, it’s a pain, compared to ヘンリー A スペンサー Henry A. Spencer, but then again Henry is more romantic and probably the most straight-forward type of character, like his grandfather Wil A. Spencer, in Season 1. And I haven’t even got any special photos from Sieg, unlike the Henry’s story where I got all the 5 from the first story and 2 from the epilogue. My favourite pics from Henry are:

Shall not give to much spoilers, but the above pics can only be obtained if you play the game right. So obviously I did so with Henry but am not able to do so for Sieg… Maybe I’m not DoM enough… :( In any case, I’m quite upset with my Sieg’s story right now, I just downloaded the Valentine’s special that was launched and am playing Henry‘s Valentine’s story now…

Hope after the break, I will get back on track with Sieg’s story again…
